Job Postings
In the Communication Center, students work together to answer incoming emails and phone calls to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. At the Front Desk, students direct guests to appropriate offices and event spaces, check-in guests for Admission Events, and answer questions. Students also assist with processing mail that’s delivered to our office.
Students typically work 5-10 hours per week, although more or less is also common. The maximum number of hours a student may work is 20 hours. Students are required to work at least 2 semesters in a calendar year, but do not have to be consecutive. Students may receive a pay raise based on performance or for each semester they continue working in the office.

We are seeking to hire and train individuals this semester to, at the very least, work through the end of August. (Opportunity to stay on staff during the Fall and Spring Semesters!)
STUDENTS CAN EXPECT:

- To lead a group of 10-12 individuals through set ground activities and/or high ropes elements
- Follow specific instructions to correctly facilitate said ground activities and/or high ropes elements
- Follow set debriefing questions after each ground activity and/or high ropes elements
-To be responsible for proper risk mitigation techniques both on the ground and in the air
- To work closely with co-workers to provide a smooth experience for participants
- Set up and clean up site before/after workshops
-Attend multiple training sessions to strengthen skills

We are seeking 1-2 highly motivated undergraduate research assistants (RAs) to support a new, NSF-funded project that evaluates the impact of accelerated federal R&D funding for small technology businesses. This position will focus on data cleaning and wrangling, with the potential to contribute to other elements of the research such as data scraping, visualization, company research, and interviews. The successful candidate will contribute directly to data collection and measurement. They will have the opportunity to gain deep understanding of the research process, working with a multidisciplinary research team to deliver on the grant’s objectives.
About the Research:
This project identifies policy levers for enhancing government programs that finance innovation, specifically the Small Business Administration’s SBIR/STTR awards, and explores the comparative advantage of such programs for some scientists and firms versus others. The project has the potential to improve technology development and the ability of new, small technology firms to survive. This work will help to provide actionable, evidence-based policy recommendations and will have direct implications for federal programs, related state programs, and other groups that support firms in applying for SBIR/STTR awards.
Responsibilities and Major Tasks:
• Data cleaning, wrangling and organization using programming tools (R, Python)
• Record linkage – sorting and matching/joining disparate databases, including “fuzzy” matching techniques
• Data methodology documentation
• Other potential data tasks: web scraping and visualization
• Attend weekly team meetings (virtual or in person)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Schedule: 10-15 hours per week from June 1, 2025 through August 31, 2025
Qualifications:
• Programming: experience using RStudio, Python, or another programming language
• Independent problem-solving: motivated, detail-oriented, and able to efficiently meet deadlines and self-start new tasks
• Team collaboration: strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Advanced Qualifications:
• Data visualization
